Magical Moments with Mickey

Sorcerer Mickey is by FAR one of my favorite characters to meet at Hollywood Studios. For a while I had no idea where to find him. I would see pictures of people on vacation with this Mickey, but they never exactly said where he was. It was a stroke of luck one faithful night. We just finished up our fast passes at the Star Tours Ride and took a left when coming out of the gift shop at the end of the ride. Right across from the Sci-Fi drive in theater restaurant, there was a fold out sign that had a picture of Mickey and Minnie, with an arrow pointed to the right.

Honestly, if the sign wasn’t there, you would have never guessed it was a character spot. You walk down a corridor with high walls and then it opens out into the waiting line. Both times I have done this character experience, the line hasn’t been too bad. I go towards the end of the day so the line has about a 15-25 minute wait time. But the line is worth it because you meet Mickey and Minnie. Minnie is in a light pink dress with a red carpet backdrop theme, and Mickey is in his sorcerer’s workshop, wearing the iconic red robe and blue hat!

In the pictures above, Mickey notices I am wearing a shirt with him on it and my classic Minnie Ears. This gives the fur character, (Suited character) something to go off of for interaction. Also I asked Sorcerer Mickey some of these questions:

  • “How are the spells coming along?”
  • “Can you teach me how to cast a spell?”
  • “Do you think I can be a sorcerer/sorceress like you one day?”

These are aren’t ice breakers for just kids, but for adults too! I have seen people from ages 5 – 85 get up to the front of the line, and get nervous because they either don’t know what to say, or get embarrassed because they think people will judge how they react. I say, don’t worry! When you are with that character, you should feel like you are the only one in the room and just have a ball! In some upcoming blogs, I may include videos of the character/interaction. What are your opinions? Leave a comment below! Also don’t forget to like and share this blog with your friends so they don’t misroute on the magic!
