International Festival of The Arts 2018 RECAP

This was the second year of the International Festival of The Arts and we loved it!! This year Disney added in some really cool stuff for pass holders and included some new interactive things for all the guest!

For passholders Disney released pass holder prints of Belle, as seines in the blog heading and in the gallery below!

And as for the new things added to the festival this year, there were some drawing seminars where guest could take part in learning how to draw some of Disney’s classic characters like Mickey, Olaf and Stitch! Another new thing was the “deconstructed” themed dishes that were very popular amongst Instagramers.

We liked the fact that they still kept some of the activities from the inaugural festival like the giant mural and the amazing sidewalk chalk artist! The concert series with the Broadway performers was just astounding and the theming for the festival was on point, having Figment at the focal point. Because without creativity and the “Figment” of our imagination, we would not have art!

As for next years festival we are expecting some of the same activities and hopefully some new and different food items added on the menu!! To see some recipes from the IFOTA, head over to the “Foodies” section of our website and it will take you where you will have access to tons of great recipes from your home away from home!!!

Below is a small gallery of some of our favorite moments from the festival!!

Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned for when we kick off Flower and Garden this Wednesday!!! For real-time updates on what we are doing, follow us on Instagram at @the_disneytraveler!!! See ya real soon pals!!!

New PhotoPass Frames

Hiya Travelers!! So a few of you guys have reached out to me on Instagram from seeing some interesting photo pass frames on my Instastory! The only ones I have seen so far are the ‘Monorail Frames’ and the ‘Magical Express Frames’ which I included some of my pictures below. I think this is a really cute idea that Disney has come up with for social media users.

There are no photo pass photographers at the frames, but the Cast Members nearby are always more than happy to take a picture for you! The Monorail frames are located at the Ticket and Transportation Center, or TTC and the Magical Express frame is located close to the information stands outside of the park entrances (for Hollywood Studios at least).

Now I do need to point out that the frames are not always out either. From what I’ve noticed Disney usually puts them out on a Friday or Sunday, early to mid afternoon when crowds are low. So always take the opportunity to snap a super cute and cheesy Disney photo when the opportunity arises.

Pandora – The World of Avatar

May 19, 2017 I was able to get a two hour sneak peak of the new park in Animal Kingdom, Pandora – The World Of Avatar.

Welcome to Mo’ara!

Since the park has opened to the public on May 27, 2017. The new section in Animal Kingdom may be small but it is jam packed full of things to see. After talking to a cast member, we were informed that everything that we see in Pandora is from movies 2 through 4, which is suppose to be years and years after the first movie.

There are two rides inside the new park, those are Na’vi River Journey and Flight of Passage. Just recently I rode Flight of Passage and this ride is unlike anything Disney has ever done before. Passengers sit on motorcycle-like seats and are held into place with back and leg restraints. As for the ride, visitors are taken around the Mystic Mountains with a Na’vi guide. This is something you have to experience yourself to understand. However, if are easily prone to motion sickness or have a terrible fear of heights I would go ride the River Journey! This is a ride everyone can go on! There are no drops and nothing too frightening for the little ones. Your journey beings at a nice quiet part of the river and the colors of the river progressively get bright the further into the river you venture. Another thing that happens is the sound of the Na’vi’s singing. It starts out as the sound of the animals in the environment, then it evolves to a a flute being played along to the beat. Finally after you go just around the river bend, you see the Shaman singing and touching the objects around her, creating an unforgettable memory in this Na’vi ceremony that is truly a toughing experience.

Gorilla Trails in Animal Kingdom

Just off to the beaten path by the exit of Kilimanjaro Safari, trek through an animal outdoor exhibit where you can come close with Monkeys, Birds, Hippos, and Silver-back Gorilla. It isn’t cowed thankfully, but on a rainy or over-cast day, it’s a perfect place to take the little ones without them getting over heated. Check out some cool shots of the Gorillas bellow!

It’s amazing to just watch these amazing creatures just minding their own business and relaxing. There is also an enclosed encounter where you can watch baby gorillas play either early in the morning or close to closing time. They are open from park open to just before dust. Times are subject to change due to weather and animal behavior. Visit for more information.

Top 3 Favorite Disney Snacks!

I know I did an earlier post about my number one, all time favorite Disney snack, but recently I have discovered a few other Mickey treats I enjoy! After a few recent trips to Hollywood Studios, I discovered a new love for Mickey pretzels and churros!

Of course Mickey Ear Ice Cream Bars are my number one fav, but Mickey Pretzels have grown on me! We were coming off The Great Movie ride and my stomach rumbled. I knew my usual go-too wouldn’t do the trick this time. It was the first time I bought one so I wasn’t sure if  I would like it but everyone raves how amazing it is, and IT TOTALLY WAS!!!! The cheese sauce that comes with it makes it (in my opinion) 100% times better!!!

Later that night before Fantasmic, we stopped to pick up some popcorn and there they were. Churros. I had never ever had one before and I had been desperately searching for one and there they were. After sprinting across the Hollywood Courtyard, I jumped in line and ordered my first churro EVER! And it was to die for!! Literally one of the best!

I took to Instagram and asked a few of my friends what their fav Disney Snacks are!

First up Andy from @beyond_castle_walls :

“My top three fav snacks are Turkey Legs, Dole Whip, and Mickey Pretzels. I love the turkey legs because they are so sweet, salty, and savory. Dole Whip because it is this creamy sweet pineapple treat perfect for hot days! And Mickey Pretzels because they are heaven!! My favorite seasonal treat is a tie between Violet Lemonade from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival and the Poison Apple from Mickey Not So Scary Halloween Party!”

Wow great choices Andy! Be sure to go check out this cool cast members Instagram page and give him a follow to see all his adventures!

Next we have Doug from @dougdoesdisney:

“Top three… Mickey Premium Bars, Dole Whip, and Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner!! I think Mickey Bars are my thing because they are refreshing on a hot day and the chocolate ears are just too good. I like Dole Whip Floats… well if anyone questions why people like Dole Whip they need to go have one first. There is no question there. The Corn Dog Nuggets are on the line between snack and meal, something that can fill you up and it’s a sweet treat! Seasonally the Pumpkin Spice Waffles from Sleepy Hollow are EPIC!”

I’d have to agree with Doug on the Dole Whip opinion! Truly a great snack that needs no questioning.

And finally we sit down with Mike and Hannah from @jollyhollanday:

Mike- “My top three are Churros, Lefou’s Brew, and Dole Whip! I love Churros because I love everything cinnamon/sugar, and actually didn’t try them until recently and I loved them so much they bumped to the top of my list! Lefou’s Brew because it’s such a rare but delicious flavored drink! (And that toasted marshmallow foam of course!!!) And finally Dole Whip because the unique and very refreshing taste! My favorite seasonal treat is the candied strawberries at the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot!”

Hannah- “Dole Whip Swirl, Corn Dog Nuggets, and Lefous Brew (We have a lot of the same  favorites hahaha). I loved the Dole Whip Swirl, which is sadly discontinued now, but I bypass this by getting Dole Whip and then some vanilla ice cream from Sunshine Tree Terrace. A little complicated but SO worth it. The vanilla mellows out the tartness of the pineapple. I love Casey’s Corn Dog Nuggets because Corn Dogs are my favorite fried food! But Casey’s version is so much better. And I love Lefous Brew for the same reason especially on a hot day! Finally my favorite seasonal snack is the Maple Popcorn Milkshake at the Flower and Garden Festival!”

Thank you so much Mike and Hannah for sharing your favorite foods with us! Next time you guys are in the kingdom we will have to get a round of Lefous Brew!!

Be sure to check out all three of these amazing Disney Instagramer’s and their many trips to the kingdom!!! So long for now folks, see ya real soon!!

Dinning Review:Crystal Palace

Valentine’s Day, 2017. I ate at the Crystal Palace for breakfast. It is a buffet style dinning experience including some fan favorites like, omelets, sausage, breakfast lasagna, breakfast pizza, and Mickey waffles!!! The Crystal Palace is also a character style dinning, where guest have the opportunity to meet four friends from the Hundred Acre Woods!

Winnie the Pooh

Over all the restaurant, in our opinion war five stars. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, the cooks and people behind the buffet bar all had smiling faces and greeted us, dirty dishes were picked up quite fast so the table was clutter free. And the characters were very interactive as well. We will defiantly be going back!

Mickey Bars

Every that visits one of the many Walt Disney parks, has gotten at least something Mickey shaped. Whether it be chicken nuggets, a cheeseburger, or my personal favorite, ice cream Mickey bars! This cute Mickey-vanilla ice cream patty dipped in hard chocolate is always a must when we are at the parks. If you want to see how to make this magical snack and tons of other Disney dishes, head on over to

Tale As Old As Time: Beauty And The Beast LIVE!

On Hollywood Blvd, you’ll discover an outdoor amphitheater with giant banners showing our beloved friends from Beauty And The Beast. Park guest file into the huge seating area and patiently await the starting of the show. The opening number from the movie echoes throughout the theatre and fog fills the stage floor.

The whole movie is condensed into a roughly 35 minute show. There are a lot of musical numbers, dancing, vibrant colors, a handsome prince, and of course our beautiful Belle!

Take a look below at some pictures from the show! You can catch this amazing show everyday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Just check your My Disney Experience app for daily show times, as they are subject to change at any time!
